Select International Southern Africa is a team diagnostics consultancy. We use science-backed measurement to help organisations understand what is actually happening inside their teams — and what to do about it.
We’re colleagues, university cohorts and friends who have spent much of our working lives building companies, leading teams and helping other teams work better together.
On our journeys, we kept encountering the same thing: good leaders working incredibly hard, yet sensing their teams could be better — without always knowing exactly what was getting in the way.
There is no shortage of great diagnostics. Many provide valuable insight into a part of the picture — trust, psychological safety, engagement, personality, leadership or culture. But a team is a system. Looking at one part can provide useful insight while missing the bigger issue — or the root cause.
That became our challenge: could we see the whole field? The conditions, behaviours, relationships, patterns and energy that interact to enable performance — or quietly get in its way.
The Performance Field grew from that work.
